Emmendingen
Emmendingen is situated midway between Strasbourg and Basel
in the Black Forest region of Germany and has a population
ofapproximately 25000. There are many interesting visits to
be made from Emmendingen such as the Hochburg castle,
Freiburg, Colmar, and the Breisgau wine trail. The town
itself is a mixture of old and modern, with a historic Town
Hall and its modern replacement, museums, picturesque 18th
century houses and a water wheel that generates enough
electricity for 60 households. The surrounding countryside
is perfect for hiking and for ski-ing in winter, and the
hillsides are covered in vines roducing good quality white
wines.
